Audley End 30-01-2019

Post by andygolfer » Thu Jan 31, 2019 5:51 pm

last stop yesterday was Audley End and a visit to Vintage Fabrics, another friendly welcome and a cup of tea. I was with Nigel Kemp of Air Britain (Stansted) who knows them well so that helps but they are always friendly. If you want to visit it's best to call beforehand though.

most of the incumbents were too close to photograph but I managed a few - Mike will drool over the first two!

There is a notice outside by the office now saying an appointment is need before hangar entry is permitted.
So don`t just turn up and expect to get shown around. Phone: 01799 510756 for an appointment please.

that one was gorgeous, absolutely immaculate. so pleased to manage a pic of it.

there were 6 Pups/ Bulldogs there altogether - a nice litter! (I thought there were 7 at first but 6 is still nice) 2 were in the other kennel, I mean hangar locked away so we didn't see them.

I've never really been too bothered about Bulldogs (OK, I saw most of them on the production line at Prestwick when I should have been at school  ), it's just that Pups look so much better, and it really helps if they're in their original colour scheme and registration.
That's why 'XNR looks so good - it's just like it was when it was delivered 50 years ago. It's also good that it was rebuilt after it's accident in 1991 :- https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... _12-91.pdf

Is N111GW owned by a Titan airlines pilot, the colour scheme is very similar?

I believe so Martin and from memory there was another in similar colours near it but not clearly photographable. I'll see if I can find out for you

Martin (and anyone else who is interested) I checked with Nigel Kemp from Air Britain (Stansted) who was with me and knows the owners quite well and he confirmed the owner and other aircraft as follows:

Andy
Civilian Av question last post.
Yes N111GW & G-IIJI are both owned by the Ex CEO of Titan airways.
Nigel

so other aircraft is G-IIJI

HTH
