The day after photographing some Lightnings at Brunty, I ventured down to Heathrow in hope of some sunny civi jets. I know these will be boring for some people but I really love the winter light so here goes nothing.

They were on the 27s but pretty glad how these all came out.

Those take-off shots are superb. Love the clarity and the deep blue sky.

Best regards

Not boring at all - always good to enjoy Heathrow's variety with a blue sky, especially banking departures.

Lovely set of shots in great light. Where were you positioned for those beautiful take-off/banking shots?

I get what you're saying about the limited variety in airlines and types at LHR, but that's a superb set of shots in great winter light, you can't beat it.

In particular the Eurowings A320 and Qatar A380 are 'belters'.

Ah the location - a hit or a miss with the heavies departing. I’d say it was around 30% to 70%. The latter turning right or a straight out departure but when they did bank, it was rather nice. SO managed to position myself on Coppermill Road. About half way along. It’s a quiet residential road so didn’t get any bother. Would just say to respect that people live there and they are getting on with their day to day life’s. The road is to the west of Wraysbury reservoir. Hope this helps and thanks again!

Thanks for the info; must try to get down there some time - your photos show it to be more fruitful than up on the wee road by Overton Dismantlers at Dyce! Again, great set of photos; and congrats on getting and making the most of the sunshine.
