Manchester 27 October

Despite the weather, I took the chance and went out to runway 5 Right yesterday. It was a crisp morning with patchy frost which remained on the ground until about quarter to ten. The cloud came in from the north fairly early on and the day seemed to get even colder. The light was not brilliant to begin with, and it got darker as the morning progressed. Although I wore fingerless thermal gloves, my fingers started to ache with the cold and I was happy to get into my car at quarter to eleven. I have got to get the right sort of gloves if I want to get some trips in this winter.

Here are a few of the images that I came away with (the runway marking reflection theme is deliberate):

Paul, I wear a leather glove on my left hand which has quite good feel and for my right hand which I use for the shutter button (and other fine controls) I use a golf glove. not the warmest but fine enough to give good control.

Euan, thanks. Andy, that sounds like a great idea. I will give that a go.
