Civilian Aviation

another set from my Canada trip, these were taken at Vancouver airport on the evening of 2nd October some while I passed time waiting for my flight and a few from inside the aircraft itself. Glass and perspex has softened them slightly unfortunately but still a few that are rare to these shores (note the exif data shows the date on most of them as 3rd October as I forgot to re-set my clock for the duration of the holiday so anything taken 4pm onwards showed the wrong date ).

I should have marked my seat with a 'x' like people used to do on their holiday postcards to home in the 1960s 'To all at Number 22, weather wonderful, our room marked with an "X", wish you were here, food very greasy but we have managed to find this marvellous little place hidden away in the back streets where you can even get Watney's Red Barrel and cheese and onion crisps and the accordionist plays "Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner"'
but I'll have to make do with saying it's the window under the 'I' of Air Canada:

this LH A.350arrived on the stand next to ours after landing on the south runway while I was photographing arrivals on the north and was then hidden from photographic view but I did manaage this one from the air bridge as we boarded...

Andy, your photos are a lot better that anything I've ever achieved from inside a terminal or aircraft. That runway shot at the end makes me wonder just how cold the airport surrounds must get in winter.

thanks guys and yes Paul H, I had an amazing time.

Paul Z - the last day was sunny but very cold with it, the area must suffer in the winter months but the skiers love it. Our flight back is upped from a 787 to 777 in the winter to provide extra capacity (I much preferred the 787 though).
