Kelowna British Columbia 25-9-2018 , drive by pics from a coach

Went past this airport in the Okanagan valley during my recent holiday and snapped these as the coach carried on it's merry way. I fully admit they are crap but are really intended as information for anyone else travelling that route to be on the look out for the place (it's a popular route for those driving between Jasper in the Rockies to Vancouver).
It's a very busy g.a. airport and also sports all sorts of other types including some stored aircraft on the east side and a few scheduled services. If I'd been driving I would have stopped for an hour or two. It's quite well visible from the main road Highway 97 and there are local roads to get closer including one on the east side judging by some pics I've found whilst researching the i.d.s of the Convairs etc on that side (what a task that was!).

this was a surprise, VP-BAT has been in storage since May but left on 3rd October, a week after I took this, the stored 727 is N231WL btw.

some more of the western side;

I only found the i.d. of one of the Metroliners - C-GKLN

now the western side, the stored Convairs (N4753B, C-GNCB and N157JR) and an F.27 C-GCRA

the g.a. park - it's very extensive and a very affluent (not effluent) area apparently and a road runs the full length of the western boundary

Mike - just a thought, would this be better in the information section?

Andy, that 727 N231FL got my interest as it looks airworthy but I see it was deregistered in 2017. What a shame. Thanks for posting.

Still nice to see, Andy.
I had a brief look at Kelowna back in 2007. Looks a bit busier now.
Think I will post a few more Canadian Ramblings in the winter.
Looking forward to the rest of your travels.
Pete.
