Spotting a Norwegian Super Puma on FR24, clearly undertaking work at the soon to be opened (Wed 30th August) Queensferry Crossing over the River Forth, I gambled that it would still be there at the end of a 40 mile dash. Luckily it was and while showers passed all around I stayed dry and warm in the sun. The Airlift machine was removing the last of the fixings for the construction cranes and lifting the gantries for the navigation beacons and lighting conductors into place, topping out the 210 metre central tower.

Re: Airlift Super Puma works the Queensferry Crossing.
Great shots Alan, I remember being there for the opening of the original road bridge in September 1964 - low cloud and the flypast of Lightnings from Leuchars was cancelled !

Thanks, it's probably going to be Déjà vu all over again with the current weather.

You never know - it might be a nice sunny day and hopefully the RAF will get their massive fleet in the air for it.
