Civilian Aviation

This fabulous Turkmenistan Airlines Il-76 arrived at Stansted this morning. We were slightly concerned due to the fair weather cumulus bubbling up, and the runway was closed briefly twice due to a hole (firstly to inspect and clear the mess, and then to patch it). All worked out well though:

Very nice set PorkScratching ! .... Huge crowd I imagine .... Those engines just don't look large enough to me ??

Compared to modern boring high bypass turbofans, yeah. But this Il-76 had proper low bypass turbofans - complete with smoke and noise

Great shots indeed! Could someone please confirm the times/dates of the remaining two flights and hopefully i can get down for one of them.
I'm not on any of the Stansted lists so i'm a bit out of touch with the goings on!

there are 3 more due as follows (from the Yahoo group): Arrival dates are 06/15/21/30 Aug at 0930 each day, and departing 1400 the following day

no probs, I should have credited the Stansted Yahoo Group for the info BTW. Otherwise Nick and I will fall foul of the moderators on there.

apologies but I originally posted the wrong days for the last 2 flights. I've corrected the original post but to ensure you see the correct ones they are as follows (from Stn Yahoo group):

Arrival dates are 06/15/21/30 Aug at 0930 each day, and departing 1400 the following day

there is a post on the Stansted yahoo group this evening confirming that the Il.76 flight tomorrow (Tuesday) is scheduled for an 09.30 BST arrival.

It's due to be EZ-F426 again
