KLM Tribute to Fokker

Post by AirbusA320 » Sun Jul 02, 2017 8:34 pm

Fokker 70 PH-KZU has been graced with a special Thank You Fokker, as the 70 will depart in October 2017 from KLM fleet, and since the earliest days of aviation KLM has always had Fokker aircraft in there fleet of some kind or another, well sadly Fokker no longer make aircraft, so the 70 will be the last Fokker aircraft in KLM fleet

As a tribute KLM have graced the tail with
Anton Herman Gerard "Anthony" Fokker (6 April 1890 – 23 December 1939) was a Dutch aviation pioneer and an aircraft manufacturer. He is most famous for the fighter aircraft he produced in Germany during the First World War such as the Eindecker monoplanes, the Dr.1 triplane and the D.VII biplane.
After the treaty of Versailles forbade Germany to produce airplanes, Fokker moved his business to the Netherlands. There his company was responsible for a variety of successful aircraft including the Fokker trimotor, a successful passenger aircraft of the inter-war years. He died in North America in 1939.

Hi- nice shots and a great historical story.
(It would be a good subject for a themed photo topic-I'll bet loads of people have Fokker pics going way back!)
Thanks for posting
