Airlander 10 - 08/04/17

Post by TheMightyOz » Sat Apr 08, 2017 9:25 am

G-PHRG Airlander 10, resplendent in the morning sun at Cardington after exiting Shed 1 last night.

The sequence of events that lead to the hard landing back in August was triggered by a problem with the mooring mast, so that has now been replaced with this new one.

Nice pics Mark, has it stayed outside please?

I'm going to Old warden tomorrow for the SVAS photo section agm so if it is I might pop over there afterwards (or before if I can get up early enough!).

Still outside and should remain so for the forseeable future. I think it will only go back inside after more flight testing, if data suggests some modifications are required. Might be at Old Warden tomorrow myself.

thanks Mark, are you going to the agm? If you see someone with Sigma stoop due to a heavy lens round his shoulder it's probably me!

which is the better road for photography of the Airlander, the A600 or the minor road to the east of the airfield pls?

No, not going to the AGM. I'm not a photo section member, just SVAS.

Turn left out of Shuttleworth, through Old Warden village and you'll come to a sharp left hand bend with a road off to the right. Take that right towards Bedford and as you come down the hill you'll see Airlander and the sheds. Just before a bridge there's a field entrance with room to park about 4 cars and a public footpath that runs along the edge of the airfield. Along the footpath there are several gaps in the hedgerow that offer a great view of Airlander.
