I know you've just seen some excellent Kemble shot's from yesterday, however I ended up there today testing out my Nikon D3100 I got for Xmas!
Never used a dSLR, so tried to get my head around the guide book I got with it, and went out to see the Thai 777 and try the camera out, I figured it would be good to just try all sort's of settings and just try it out. I had a lot of shot's to delete but that is expected when you don't know what you are using. As I recall someone saying, never use Auto and expect it to do everything for you, learn the camera and take control. Very true, I did try it Auto to see what it would actually do, focus was off as was the light.
Probably not the best day to try first shots, it was rather hazy all day with low light, not what I thought it would be but was better than it could be!!
One thing though having put them on the PC, I was rather impressed in the difference from my Fuji HS10, didn't need to do a lot of editing especially in respect to bringing colours up, and noticed a lot less noise as well. Had a fair bit of camera shake though to be fair it wasn't far off 0 degrees (it was -1 degrees on the way up!)
More practice the better as they say, but comments any criticism is most welcome, be harsh if you wish I won't take it personally, at the end of the day I can only learn and know something if someone tells me!
(Yes, I might learn how to take the date stamp off)

Has to heavily edit these two Thai shots, I overexposed them somewhat and was really bright white. I thought I took some other ones but I must have deleted them thinking they were rubbish. No shame in editing photo's I suppose though!

Thanks for looking!
James.
