Wallabie in the mist - Stansted 15-12-2016

Post by andygolfer » Thu Dec 15, 2016 3:04 pm

went to Stansted this morning to catch the Qantas B747 in their Olympic scheme, it looked nice once the fog lifted enough to see it, couldn't see across the runway when we arrived at 8.15, fog lifted but cloudbase didn't so the Ethiopian DHC.8 diverted to LHR instead.

Here are a few pics of the 747 and others than I saw through the mist....

Nice shots Andy, in some challenging conditions!!

Good to see some more "exotic" visitors coming in recently!

Evening Andy, sorry was going to bring the Sun down from sunny Norfolk for the ET-reg Dash but ETA & ETD looked to be a wasted journey, and didn't know any ETD on the Qantas so feel a little sick, but not as half as travelling all that way and to miss the Dash diverting into LHR,Hoping you and the family are well wishing you all a Very Happy Christmas from Peter & Kevin.

many thanks guys, seasons greetings to you too. The Ethiopian circled in thre hold for about 30 minutes - we could hear it on the radion but then suddenly disappeared and next we knew it had gone to LHR. I saw the previous one (ET-AUD) last month and another last year so have at least got pics of some of them.

I was told yesterday that the Qantas is due to operate again on 29th bringing the pax back, no ifo on times but as it's coming from Oz then likely to be early morning times again. Come down and bring some sun with you please - I haven't managed a photo with blue sky yet this month :(
