Great set there Mike, especially the EasyJet bandana shot.

Nope,, the mud is horrendous all along the 23L footpath. Some places it's ankle deep so I didn't bother walking too far as a quick trip down the slope to the fence was always a possibility :-(

I will definitely go better prepared next time, when i came off the south side i had a trip to the trafford centre to buy a clean pair of trousers as i was that covered in mud

lovely set, there certainly are some nice vantage points at Manchester (as long as you have good boots by the sound of it).
The EasyJet is an excellent catch and I also like the Flybe and Singapore - they are my favourite 3. The only one i'm not overly keen on is the Etihad with the control tower sticking out the top or is it a new gimmick to give an in-flight observation deck?
thanks for posting them Mike, hope you didn't get too muddy

the whole of the new runway has great vantage points as there is a public footpath that runs the whole length and you also have a river tunnel under the runway which give access to spots between the two runways so good when the are using the 05 runways
it is a shame that the new runway is only used at peak times and not at all on a sunday

For anyone interested, you can actually walk all the way round runway 2,, just under 4 miles to complete the loop.,, although definitely not advisable at this time of year unless you're dressed and ready for serious mud. Usually they start using Runway 2 from 1pm until 8pm from around the end of April through to the end of October, so it's better then.

I think the second Etihad A330 is a much more aesthetically pleasing shot, it is nice to have a clear uncluttered background but it is not always possible

Lovely set.
Another vote for the second Etihad A330 but the Flybe is my favourite.

Cracking stuff Mike, the light at Manchester is very often (not always!!) worth the traipsing round to the south side, especially in winter. Need to make another trip up there soon, probably when Saudi bring their dreamliners.

Super set of pictures in challenging conditions under foot buy your account. I particularly like the Easyjet moon shot.
I must make the effort to get up to Manchester this year and try the south side.
