Iain,
Not too shabby for a first outing. There are some really good images in there - you may want to consider entering your Emirates 380 into the SPOM competition this month.

Re: Manchester 27/12/15
some very nice ones there Iain. My pick of them is the last one - the Aurigny ATR. Eve though the aircraft is showing the shaded side in this case it works well as the background really stands it out and the background itself is superb, really make the picture exceptional.
Only thing I'm not overly keen on is the cropping of some of them e.g. the United 757 and first Thomson 787 - they could be centralised a bit better.
Also some are cropped almost to letterbox proportions which i (personally) think doesn't work particularly well, I guess that might have been done to eliminate the annoying fence in the foreground in which case it's a good reason for doing so. If that is the reason it might be worth getting a small set of folding steps or a folding stool to gain a bit of height which even if the fence is still in the bottom of the pic it will be nearedr the bottom so you can crop in a 3:2 ratio which would look better - the first pic would look really superb if you could get a bit higher to lose some of that fence in the foreground.
This is the type of stoll I mean and you can get them at lots of hardware type shops or on the internet, they double up nicely as a seat as well! : http://www.plasticboxshop.co.uk/home-st ... wwodAD0LBg
Keep them coming, and yes please remember SPOTM this month (Gulf registered aircraft) and POTM of course for pics taken in January. There's also the ongoing comp for those who haven't won a photo comp on here which closes end of February (subject B.737s)
thanks for posting them
