Fuji Dream
Fuji Dream
Fuji Dream Airlines are a small domestic carrier in Japan with a fleet of 9 Emb-170/175s. Thankfully they have decided to buck the trend and not employ Dulux gloss white as their house livery and instead all are painted in various garish colours. All shots taken at one of their hubs - Nagoya Komaki in November.

Is a realistic goal or just a dream? Mitsubishi's MRJ caught on a test flight. Mitsubishi must think the latter as they are busy constructing a new factory to handle production of this new jet.

Re: Fuji Dream
Thanks for posting those, great to see them all together. Agree wholeheartedly that they're much better than the boring mostly white schemes that are common today (I do like the gold one).
Is that the first MRJ photo on this forum? Probably! Sadly Mitsubishi have just announced a further one year delay to the programme. I hope it makes it to Farnborough this year.

Re: Fuji Dream
Very interesting selection of colour, some do look nasty. I do like the look of the MRJ, nose seems to point down dramatically, would this be to improve visibility landing
Re: Fuji Dream
Cheers for the comments lads.
Nick, just read the report on the delay in the MRJ program - apparently they need to strengthen the wings and undercarriage. Not an easy task without significant weight penalties. It's an attractive aircraft but can't help feeling that they are about 5 years too late to market and a further delay will only damage the program. Main orders are from US regionals, a significant delay may see them cancel, with the MRJ essentially being picked up only by the Japanese carriers, just like the YS-11.

Re: Fuji Dream
Grass73 I fear you may be correct that the outlook for the MRJ isn't good with the delay, and the complex reasons why. It's quite distinctive, so it would be nice to have them selling well. Worrying times for those working on the project too I expect.
Re: Fuji Dream
Nice to see an airline dare to be different, reminds me of Court Line in the '70s with their pastel fleet.
Re: Fuji Dream
Nice shots Niall. I got 6 of these at Fukuoka in 2014 but it was raining !

Those Fuji colours remind of the good old days at Luton and the Court Line 1-11 fleet.
