Heathrow 27L Departures
Posted: Sun Dec 06, 2015 4:46 pm
With a brief let-up in the bad weather of late and some time on my hands, I popped up to Heathrow on Friday (4th) to try and shoot some 27L departures. I went to Stanwell Moor, a location I've been to in the past, and over the course of the day only saw two other people, a jogger and a twitter. A half decent day with some cloud bubbling up occasionally and than setting in by just before 2pm. Anyway, very happy with the selection I came away with.
It's great to catch the early morning light at a civilised time. Qatar A330 making the turn over Staines.

Air India are currently using a B777-200 on the morning service

A great variety of A380s at LHR these days. Qatar....

Emirates of course...

Thai....

Etihad...

Singapore....

Qantas....

Malaysian ....

and the home team, BA

First time I've seen the new Austrian livery, is it a low cost branding?

Singapore B777-300

Two of the new B787-9s of BA - G-ZBKD

and G-ZBKB

Great to see a Vietnam Airlines B787-9

I wasn't aware of the Finnair A340 scheduling, so a nice bonus, Obviously with a very light fuel and passenger load as it rocketed skywards.

and still a few Virgin Atlantic A340-600s operating

Saudi B777-300

Cathay Pacific B777-300

yet another B777-300, THY

I think someone spilt the pots of paint when this was last in the hangar

I know that it's an underside shot, but I quite like it.

and finishing with a BA jumbo

thanks for looking
