G-DIDO - A Golf Course Obstruction?

Post by norwichmike » Mon Sep 07, 2015 2:01 pm

Had a message to say the Pro AM team were being dropped off at Overstrand, Norfolk by helicopter on Thursday. After a quick dash home after work for the camera allowed a quick snap to be taken....

Nice shot Mike, I think you'd get a free drop of your ball landed underneath it. :thumb:

No it,s a movable obstruction so you have to lift it away from your ball!

Rule 24-1 moveable obstructions

you can move the helicopter and if the ball moves then it must be replaced in its original position without penalty, so it is worth marking the ball position with a T Peg before starting the Helicopter

if the ball lands on the helicopter then the ball may be lifted, the Helicopter moved and the ball dropped as near to its original position as possible but not nearer the hole

it is amazing that the R&A cover helicopters in its rule book

Nice shot BTW :thumb:

Plenty in the laws about lateral hazards, but surely this is a vertical hazard
