nice pics, I should have put out an 'all airports warning' to look out for Paul, he's on a grand tour for the next few days. I'm meeting up with him on Tuesday

Wow!!
Ace shots! I too love the Emirates 777 shot, and the Jet2 757, though that's sort of biased by my favorite type, for modern ones that fly anyway.
I've yet to do Manchester!

Thanks mate
if you can get up to manchester there are some very good places to go on the south side of the airport the jet two, easy jet, and brussels were taken from a footpath that runs the whole length of the second runway and in most places you are above the fence so can get good unobstructed shots, the line up shots were taken after a move to the south side mound, it has been about a year since i have been to this location and they have fitted the new higher security fence topped with razor wire so you cant get shots of the full aircraft when they are lined up and waiting for clearance without catching a big chunk of razor wire in the shot as well, also in this spot the trees and bushes are starting to get up a bit and you have to dodge them as well
but for line up shots it is the best

that is an example of the razorwire and the foreground clutter that i was on about, yes you could do something with it in photoshop but that is not my thing and i have limited skills when using photoshop

Very nice set of images, well worth the early start in my eyes!!
re the last image, to me the fence and razor wire doesn't really detract from the main subject of the image - yes it would be better without it being there, but it doesn't take you eye off the plane!
Plus, I think more airports will be going that route after the debacle at Heathrow earlier this week with the protestors cutting the fence and shutting the runway down...
