I spent part the hottest July day for almost a year at Gatwick waiting to pick up my son and family, plane was 30 minutes later ans took ages to get through passport control so coupled to my early arrival I was there almost 3 hours, decidedly warm and the sun was far too strong for decent photography, heres a few of them though and the remainder are all in my FlickR album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125470545 ... 5325104281

Nice set of photos, well done. I was out at Manchester during the same afternoon and it was "cracking the flags",, got well frazzled.

Is the Thomas Cook A330 an AirTanker example? Just looks like an attachment point for a refueling pod on the wing

Nice set :thumb:

Nice set Andy, considering the sun and heat - how's the sunburn?

thank you for the kind consideration Mike :P , I kept out of it between arrivals but it was extremely hot (putting it politely) either in or out of the car, I could have run the engine and AC continuously but would have been pointless with opening the door to get out every few minutes. :D

thanks Mike and all re the comments re the photos. I've been ballooning this morning in cool morning air, lots of pics in a far more civilised climate so will post a few later when I finish going through them.
