My first post to this section.

Not very good, my lens suffers at the full 300mm + some heavy croping! Over the top of Barton inbound to Chester

I have just returned from shopping to see these two OTT , they were "Stacked" on top of each other , but of course had separated by the time I'd got the camera.

Hi Reggie
We flew this time as it is our holiday :D . Personally I would love to give it a try & attempt the drive here :) .
We flew LHR /DOH /GOI on Qatar , unfortunately it was dark when we arrived at both Doha and Goa, but I got a few snaps.
The return journey sees us in Doha at dawn for a 2 hour stop, so I may fair better.
Obviously I will do a full report upon my return :D .
Have fun

My camera settings change depending on the conditions but lately i have been using something like

Manual Mode
1/1000th
f9 ish
iso 500

It really depends where the aicraft is in the sky in relation to the sun, yesterday i was seeing shutter speeds down to 1/1250 away from the sun and upto 1/2500 nearer to the sun.
A tip that i think really works is to underexpose the image by 1 step when there is a clear sky, this stops the white areas of the aircraft being blown. I watch the exposure meter in the viewfinder and keep it 1 step under by adjusting the shutter speed.
BTW there are some cracking shots in this thread, well done all.
