Van Nuys

Post by IndiaEcho » Sun Jul 20, 2014 12:30 pm

Hi,

During my recent trip to the US I got to spend a few hours at Van Nuys airport. Here are some photos.

The airport bills itself as the busiest airport in the world, and it was rare for something not be be moving:-

There are many interesting aircraft to be seen, including this Grob Egret:-

The Cirrus VK-30 was the forerunner to the Cirrus range of aircraft that are now so popular:-

The lcoal flying schools were busy, and operated a range of aircraft including DA40 N308EF:-

The LA Fire Department have a number of helicopters at the airport, such as N412HA:-

A couple of CL-215s were also around:-

A good few helicopters at Van Nuys are used for filming:-

While others were operated in an ambulance role:-

There were loads of biz jets as well. Some, such as N950DM were parked:-

While others such as N715FJ were on the move:-

Nice photos and very interesting subject matter. The Grob looks a weird thing.

Some great material there, and a real mix of types. Love the LA County Fire B412, and nice to see an operational Egret after seeing a pristine one at Farnborough on Wednesday. Despite the different configuration, you can see the family resemblance of the Cirrus too.
