Maui adventure
A few aviation pics from my recent whale photography trip to Maui in the Hawaiian Islands.
Flights were Newcastle To London Heathrow, Heathrow to San Diego and then San Diego out to Maui after an overnight stop in San Diego.
One for any Arsenal fans! - our BA A321 (G-EUXD) gave a nice view of the current Arsenal ground (The Emirates) with their old ground (Highbury) visible to the left & below.
Concorde G-BOAB looking a little bit sad as we cross the 27Left threshold
Some heavies shot from terminal 5 B gates :
G-VIIA
G-BYGG
5B windows were clean enough for this shot of G-VFAB departing 27R
Two of G-CIVK off to San Francisco
On board my ride to San Diego (BA 777-200 G-YMMD) with a nice view of the departing traffic as we queue for 27R.
Terminal 5 C gates with one A380 visible
11 hours later and nearly there
Over the threshold of runway 27 at San Diego's Lindbergh Field - the aircraft carrier is the USS Midway an excellent museum.
Taxiing past the Alaskan terminal - where I would be departing from at 7:00 the next morning
N713AS
N535AS - note the Hawaiian Lei added to the Alaskan Eskimo - guess N535AS is used on Hawaii flights - perhaps mine in the morning!
Arriving in Kahului after a 6 hour flight on Alaskan B737-800 N534AS
At this point the camera spends a week pointed at Whales and not planes!
All too soon I am back at Kahului face to face with the Alaskan Eskimo again- it's time to head back to San Diego for the last few days of my holiday.
On board 737-800 N593AS looking at sister ship N585AS
B717 N487HA departing ahead of us on an "inter Island" flight
Nice sunset as we head east over the Pacific - wishing I was going west - but "all good things" etc
Thanks for looking

Ok Reggie - just one whale as I am sure it's probably against the rules (although he is nearly airborne !)you could have added the best of your whale shots!
also sneaking in an Osprey that overflew our boat in san Diego
