Heathrow 13-16/3-From a different Angle

Post by bizfreeq » Mon Mar 24, 2014 7:31 pm

This visit to Heathrow,my first of this year, was very much a fact finding trip to explore some different angles from the norm. Whilst some time was spent in the usual places (so I didn't come back with nothing) my aim was to explore a bit to suss out some angles and also to try a couple I already had in mind. The weather, though lovely and warm for the 4 days, unfortunately produced two foggy starts and also a very brown ugly haze, which the Met Office put down to high polution levels, making decent photos rather challenging to take and to edit. Below are some shots taken from a spot at T5,which although not the greatest of quality, certainly give me hope for another day when the conditions are less challenging.Hope you enjoy:

These are very, very good shots. Great position and really good light on all of them. A treat to look at and thanks for posting.

Lovely set that, particularly the Thai jumbo with some nice looking light on it...

Can I ask where you took these from exactly? I've been wondering where to get departure shots with some ground in them at LHR for a little while now...
The name says Sheffield but I'm actually South Wales based now! Also often seen at Southend, Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham.

Great shots, and excellent work finding the spot. The image quality is impressive given the haze, a cropped sensor body and a 1.4 TC - just shows the quality of a Canon L series prime.

Thanks for the latest comments guys. Had another go last Friday from the same spot and the heat haze was phenomenal... approx ground level to around 300 ft....so definitely a winter/early spring location.
