Dragonair have now taken over the Hong Kong - Penang route from Cathay. Their A330s are now regular arrivals.

Went down again yesterday and managed to catch one of the specially marked Air Asia A320s that I have been after for a while. Got back and tried to transfer the images to computer to find that the CF card was corrupt! Ran it through a data recovery programme but it seems there is nothing recoverable on there.

A few from last Tuesday (7/10/14) morning.

I thought that I had lost these because of the problem mentioned in the post above. However, I got hold of a new recovery programme that managed to salvage all the images from that day.

Weather wasn't too good as the haze is making another appearance. Vis over the past two days has been less than 2 Kms.

This aircraft I have been trying to catch for quite some while.

Good news on the card. The Air Asia special looks very nice.

Were the pics showing okay on your camera but not on yuor computer or were they invisible on both? just concerned that I might have a similar problem one day and not realise until I got home. I usually switch cards during the day if it's a long day out to avoid having everything on one card.

I got very pedantic in the USA and downloads my pics onto a USB stick a few times in the hotels as I travelled around. That gave me a back up as a safeguard (fortunately didnt need it though).

Andy, the pics were showing fine on the camera. The problem started when I put the card into the reader. Came up as corrupt and then would not even show when I re-inserted the card into the camera.

I bought a replacement CF card yesterday and that had an insert that offered a free download and subscription to a programme called RescuePro Deluxe. Tried it and it worked. The other software that I ran it through, CardRecovery, showed no recoverable files.

Second time that I have had this happen.
