Dick Richardson's Retirement Fly-In - Popham 26th August

Post by Disaster Area » Thu Sep 26, 2013 1:41 pm

Catching up a bit here!!

The bank holiday weekend at the end of August saw Popham say goodbye to its long time manager Dick Richardson.
Dick has helped make Popham one of the most friendly airfields for the enthusiasts in the UK, even above a couple of incidents the access we'd all got used to and enjoyed remained.
A fly-in was held in his honour and was well attended by a nice variety of aircraft, the highlight being the Klemm G-AAUP.

The airfield now has a new manager and I hope Dick's 'legacy' continues!!

Thanks Dick, enjoy your retirement!

On with the images!

Thanks for posting. A very enjoyable time looking through. Plenty of types there from vintage through to modern. G-CECY looks to be abit of a steep angle there

Yes, I also enjoyed those.
Would have like a shot of the "visiting aircraft parking area"
That must have looked spectacular.

Regards,
John

Excellent post , unbelievable variety of aircraft . Nice to see G-BBKX again , had several flights in her between Rushett Farm and Redhill and a couple of other farm strips . Popham has always been one of my favorite airfields when I used to take the train to Basingstoke and then cycle to the airfield when I was in my teens , always been very spotter / photographer friendly .
