Civilian Aviation

A few months ago, BMI released sale prices from Aberdeen to Manchester so I couldn't resist a day of civi spotting! The spotting areas at the airport are simply fantastic if you like head on etc. They are very easy to access and are great for photograph.

I boarded the EMB145 at Dyce, only to be told that the RVR at manchester was below 150m and that we had been reallocated a slot an hour and a half away. After an hour delay we took off and headed south. We flew straight over Leuchars and it was great to see the base from so high up!

Once round at the 23L runway at Manchester, the traffic just started flowing. It was rather busy and the sun was out - a perfect start to the day!

Really nice report from Manchester mate! Thanks for sharing! Do you mind me asking how much your flight was? And did you get any shots from the aircraft of Leuchars etc?

An excellent set Mark, have really enjoyed those.

Lovely set of shots...out of Interest how did you get to the Southside ??, the reason i ask this is as a regular it looks from your wording that the shots were taken at the airport, obviously they were taken a fair Taxi ride away or a very very long walk !!! Just wondered so others don't think these are taken at the passenger side.

Please don't take this in the wrong way whatsoever, just wanted to clarify !!
