The End of an Era (Bristol Filton)

A sad day today as the last heavy aircraft departed from Bristol Filton, the movement was an A380 which was visiting to give Airbus employees a flight prior to Filton's last operational day on Friday (21st). It's a great shame to see a piece of aviation history closing only to be sold for housing development.

Shame to think that this is the last time Filton will see aircraft like this, what with the history it has. Saw this one flying over the Kinsgwood area of Bristol this morning and still amazes me how quite it is. Who knows maybe in a year or two the powers that be will see the errors in there ways and the airfield will be reopened. Excellent 4th photo.

Nicely caught memories.....

As long as we have crooked councilors who are prepared to accept brown paper bags from housing developers... nothing will change unfortunately.
