A few photos from some sunny days in lovely Malta.Take a look at the Belgium registered Thomson/Jetair 737 and see how close a bird strike could have been... Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image ImageImage

Nice set indeed, and plenty of different angles....... ;)

Yes, that strike is as near as that bird wants to be without being ingested......

Kind regards.

Marcus.

Hi paultojo....Do you mean the gantry for viewing?.
If so yes it is a brilliant spot to view things from and wish
more airports could have them built for the spotting fraternity.

I,m showing my age now and wondering also do you mean Chinook
when you say "planka".If you do I have to say I arrived on the Sunday at about 4pm
and missed the show as we were the 737 kept on hold while the show was going on   .

Anyway I'm sure it's 1 of the 2 but again I'd go back there in an instance for the
photo opportunities.

All the best mate..JB

just a last couple from Malta.
These just highlight the gantry and the good work the Kirkop council do.
As can be seen they help the spotters and even post info on a noticeboard.
I live near Norwich airport and for our council to do the same thing would be unheard of.
Even more to the point such countries as North Korea who have now opened there doors to spotters
my own place seems to discourage this hobby.

If one certain person gets their wish in our area and KLM shut down and move the only thing the
security guards will be watching will be their future as the scrapman will be the last workers on this
airport just like in the Coltishall saga.. :ninja: Anyway who knows a move to a more tolerant Country/society may be the answer.. :halo:  Image Image ImageImage
