Basel after EBACE

Post by lambo1784 » Fri Sep 28, 2018 11:18 am

Flight home from Geneva was cancelled, overnight in hotel then a 4 hr train trip with track problems to Basel for a evening flight back to Gatwick.A few taken at Basel.
Not the easiest place to take graphs as you walk up a hill to view the biz area with no pavement.
There is alot more over where the Jap 777s where but you needed a car to get there.

Another decent place for biz, I believe the Namibian GLF3 has been stored at Basel for a while

High Marin,

Yes plenty of biz around but not easy to graph, although only one movement when I was stuck there for about 5 hours viewing from the terminal high level inside area through glass, viewing deck closed but area by cafe could view any movements.
Believe it gets plenty during Davos week although have heard security gets a bit switchy.

It's been a few years since I have been to Basel but the last time I was there, it was Davos week and it was pretty busy (and bloomin' cold!!)

The Vickers Viking is looking very good, it was just a fuselage dumped in a compound on the Swiss side when I was last there.

Does anyone know the registrations of the two Japanese machines at Basle. (As shown in the flick piccies) They were there in July when I visited and went unidentified then.

According to fr24 509BJ left for Japan middle of August, would think 511BJ is still at Basel as no flight history showing.
