Bond 'Rescue 1' at Fort William 02.01.2016

Post by calum1991 » Mon Jan 04, 2016 1:15 pm

Was very lucky in catching this beauty arriving at the Fort William HLS on Saturday night. To say I was surprised when this rumbled overhead instead of a Coast Guard machine or Helimed is an understatement as it's primarily for offshore work. Sadly I couldn't wait for the departure as my better half's patience was already near breaking point!

Apologies for the quality of the arrival shots as they were taken handheld in near zero light

Thanks for looking. Any comments are appreciated.

Nicely caught Calum, I've stopped in that car park loads of times - it looks like it was almost dark when you took them, good work fella. :) :thumb:

Great shots of a tasty looking helicopter. I hope the caravan club don't get shirty when they see where he parked it.

They look pretty good to me for being "handheld in near zero light".

Especially the 1st and 2nd ones. :-)

Thanks for the comments folks. Had a look at the exif and these were taken from 16:45 onwards so it was getting pretty dark.

Is your camera still on BST, it's very dark in Inverness at 16.45?

No problem, I always forget to change the time on my cameras too - I'm just off to do it now.

they are really nice Callum, my favourites are the 2nd (with that background it looks stunning) and the 5th - the reflections finish it off nicely.

re the 2nd - you could possibly have cropped slightly tighter to remove the fence at the bottom of the pic, I think the background would still have looked as good without the fence distracting the eye. I know that's being rather critical but you asked for comments and that was one small thing that I noticed in the 2nd pic - still very very good though.

thanks for posting them and making me envyous.

Thanks. Yes Facebook doesn't do pictures much justice as they compress them quite a bit I believe.

Thanks. I see what you mean about the crop on 2. Will chop the fence off later. I think I was worried about cropping it in too far originally.
