nice set Paul, shame to see asnother one meet it's end.

a couple of questions if anyone knows the answer please-

re this and others that come in for scrapping, on it's flight into Manchester was it flying empty or do they use the flight to gain one last bit of revenue?

Alternatively do they remove whatever they want from the fittings to save for spares before the flight to the UK? I remember reading the thread about the BA retirements and swapping u/carriage gear on one aircraft before it flew to the US. Just wondered what the normal practice is.

Brunty must be quite full at present - anybody got a list please?
Andygolfer (or at least I was once), now just plane crazy

The aircraft are required to clear customs, hence the visit to Manchester of this and the three other Cathay Pacific 747-400s that went to Kemble. This is also the reason for the Qatar A310Fs visiting East Midlands and the Transaero 747-300s stopping at Birmingham before departing to Bruntingthorpe.

Nice work, Paul - Hopefully we'll have another opportunity to catch another Cathay 744 at Manchester before they're all scrapped.
