Pooleys Day '13 - Compton Abbas 30th June

The weather played ball this year (this event was post-poned until a date in October last year) and by mid-morning Compton Abbas Airfield in Dorset was buzzing with the sound of aeroplanes!

Apparently it was the airfields busiest day for 25 years as lots of pilots took advantage of the good weather, free goodie bags from Pooleys and the delicious cake that is served in the cafe at Compton Abbas!

Chris, great shots of a good selection of aircraft.

Nice to see that the sun has shone given the bad luck Compton had with many of its fly-ins last year. The two Stearman look really good and pretty sure I've not photographed them myself.

Also looks as though you went walkabout to get the two Robinson shots.

One of the Stearman was new to me, one I had seen there before.

The majority of landing shots (inc. the two robbo shots) were taken at a location i'd not tries before and was actually 'off' airport, will definately go there again though!!
