KBOS and NYC over Easter

Post by Mictheslik » Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:33 pm

Spent two weeks on the east coast of the US over Easter which included a couple of days spotting at Logan. other shots were taken from our apartment balcony, and various locations around the city. The NYC heli shots were captured from the Staten Island ferry.

Wow! Way too much there to single anything out but a cracking set - somewhere a bit different is always great to see and it actually looks like a genuinely nice place to be!

How busy was it?

In terms of number of movements it's somewhere between Gatwick and Heathrow. The problem is the runway useage is pretty awkward so you can spend ages getting to a spot and then be miles away from any aircraft.

Traffic is generally jetblue, the legacy american carriers and European long haul. Boston's a lovely city. The friendliest place I've been to outside the UK :)

Very nice shots . :thumb: ..reminds be of a great visit to Boston a good few years ago.

Do a google search for "Boston John" ...you will get some ATC recordings from Logan tower of John - a well known Boston controller who has a great way of talking to the traffic.

Not sure if he is still there but the recordings are worth a listen.

Stunning set with so much variety, I've been there a few times but never had the chance to do much aviation togging. :(

When are we seeing part 2 ? :) :)
