yes I know it's a rubbish picture, taken from the 11th level of the MSCP, but it was the only option I had for a shot! (And that was between squally showers).

Also another shot is on long finals over Stockport..... Not the best shot, as it just started raining

Interesting. Final approach is 2-3 miles on the glideslope apparently, so what constitutes long finals?

Well it's a subjective term!

For a GA long finals would be 2 miles, but for an airliner 2 miles is generally considered short(ish) finals. I'd guess long finals for an airliner would be something like 7 miles? But as I say it really is subjective!
