I spent yesterday morning at Stansted , out on the approach to start with and then at the Aerozone where we had the first Planewatch morning for almost 2 years. Predictably the weather became more and more planewatch-esque as the morning progressed until all but the hardiest of souls (porkscratching for example) had given in to the weather.
Got a few nice movements but most of all it was nice to be back.......
starting with a couple of arrivals out on the 04 approach...

Great shots Andy and nice to see the Aerozone is up and running again. Hopefully Omicron doesn't make it a short-lived re-opening.
All the best
Denis.

Excellent shots Andy, and I can see why you went out on the approach first. I guess crosswind was the reason for the ASL diversion, with that strong northerly flow we had yesterday and East Midlands' runway being aligned east-west. Shame we didn't keep the blue sky all morning, but still fantastic to be back at the Aerozone. We had a few dry interludes after you left, but you didn't miss anything.

Re: Stansted 27-11-2021
I saw that JB got a super shot of the China Southern 777F departing whilst I was still out on the approach - a mass of spray in sunlight (it's on the Air-Britain Stansted FB page), I hope you managed the same shot. He also got a similar one of the Malta air Max later on with loads of spray but no sun. My hands were too cold to hang around and the weather didn't look promising, you did well to last it out to the end.PorkScratching wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 12:25 pmExcellent shots Andy, and I can see why you went out on the approach first.
