Malta Luqa Airport (MLA/LMML) spotting guide

Check out this website before visiting Malta Luqa.

Here's some more information about the spotting locations at Malta, with thanks to Maltatripper

1. Is opposite the main runway near Kirkop. There is a gantry near the entrance to Safi, (where Medavia are based). The obvious indicator is that there is a constellation engine on display.

The gantry gives views over the fence and of the terminal opposite. It also gives views of anything taxiing from the runway into the Medavia complex.

2. Is the area from the apron round to the taxiway. Holes have been thoughtfully provided in the fence. Views of Medavia would need a long lens, but views of planes on the apron and taxiway are no problem. Take of shots will again take a longish lens, except B757 or bigger, which are the exception, not the rule.

3. The site, completely missed is the internal observation area. This is on the third floor, (above the airport offices) with the lift entrance between arrivals and departures. It is next to the creche, and a small bar/restaurant.

If members know of anymore locations, please PM me and I'll add to this post. :)
