Have folks seen the announcement from FlickR.
Unless you subscribe, free users will have a limit of 1000 pictures.
Anything above will be deleted next year.

Pete.

Had it pop up earlier and I dismissed it. Then decided to re-check and saw it.

I had Pro account previously and only got rid as I didn't see the point of spending the money for something others were now getting free.

So I have no objections for paying again for it, after all I don't have the time nor interest to find an alternative and upload another 15,000 images!

Cheers

I did my upgrade to Pro today.
It seemed a good time to do it as the pound is up against the dollar and the charge is in dollars, probably only saved 50 pence but might as well take advantage of the exchange improvement! :D

I quite like FlickR so will probably pay for the upgrade to PRO. However, that will mean that I have three paid subscriptions for photo storage: Amazon Prime, Adobe Cloud and now FlickR. The Prime unlimited storage is a bit of a bonus but I had a bad experience of the back-up software so don't use that anymore but keep Prime for the other benefits. Adobe Cloud automatically backs-ups my photo library in real time, which I believe FlickR can't, but which I really want. FlickR is the only one that displays photos as a host and as a community.

So looks as though it will be yet another paid subscription.

Can I ask you guys how much has been deducted from your bank account after updating to Pro, I've been charged £38.39 - that can't be right surely? There's supposed to be 30% discount !

$34.99 so I got the discount offer. did you use the link at the bottom of the page Mike? Trouble is now I've signed up I can't see that any more.

exchange rate is a bit crap though:
from paypal (I used PP rather than direct credit card so my card details aren't seen):
£27.97 GBP = $34.99 USD
1 GBP = 1.2511 USD

No, I used the "Get Pro" tab at the top of the Flickr website page, I should have been charged £26.87 ! I'll see if I can email them to get my discount.

looks like you got a better rate than me though, my charge was only 27% less than yours so 3% lost in the exchange rate system!

I would think they would honour the discount offer - good luck

I've emailed the "Flickr Heroes" team, I used my bank's current account card to purchase it - PP are obviously ripping customers off with their exchange rate !

They've replied to my email and are reimbursing $14.99 to my account, great service and a useful reminder to everyone to check how much you've been charged !

Anyone tell me if the 30% discount is still available? I can't find it on mine at all :???:

No objections to paying full price but if there is a discount I may as well have it.

Cheers

Hi Mike, the link for the 30% off is in the email that you should have received, if it's not in your inbox then try your spam folder. :)

Mike - you should also be able to find it on your flickr home page as it kept appearing on mine until I signed up. I've had a look but because I am already signed up to pro I can't find it.
In this forum there's a post right near the top with a link saying 30% off your first year, I can't read it because it defaults to Pro for me but hopefully you can
