Hot air balloon registrations

Post by vulcan44 » Mon Feb 08, 2021 3:16 pm

Hi all,
Does anyone know how I can find out the registrations of hot air balloons from just the logo on the side ie 'LADBROOK FARM EGGS', 'CLASSIC FM', 'IBM' etc. I logged quite a few flying over Southampton in July 1993 but have never been able to discover their registrations. I've tried sites on Google but all of them only allow a search by registration. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I don't think a website like that exists, there's https://www.g-dash.co.uk/ but it would involve going through each reg' which is pretty time consuming.

In about '93, the CAA were issuing reg's around G-BV.. series so I guess you can ignore any in-sequence reg's after that which takes a few out.

Martin,

Thanks for that idea, the site has over 3,000 balloons listed so you're right should cut out a few. Anyway it'll keep me out of mischief in the evenings, I'll let you know how I get on.

Martin,

An afterthought, wonder if any of the balloons I saw were at the Bristol fiesta in 92, 93 or 94. How would I find out?

Chris
