Hi,
On the 3rd April 1982 I was at East Midlands airport. Near to the terminal was the early museum site. I noted the fuselage and wings of what I believe was a Miles Gemini, possibly 9Q-COA. I seem to recall that it was stuffed inside a helicopter, but visible through the open door.
Can anyone confirm this, and maybe add detail to what was happening with it, and its fate.
Thanks, Pete.
Did you know that registration to Civilian Aviation is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Re: East Midlands Museum 1982
9Q-COA was an Argosy ( XR136 ) could have been 9O-COA which was a Miles Gemini . Can't confirm it was what you saw though .

Thanks for the reply JAWS.
You are right about the Argosy. But, it appears to be the second use of the reg.
I came across a document

The prefix 9O- was used up to 1961. My Gemini was once 9O-COA, but re-registered to 9Q-COA (1), but then the trail goes cold.
There is probably an interesting story of how, and why this aircraft got to the Museum. Indeed - what happened to it.
Maybe someone involved with the original museum will know.
Pete.
