Post by StuBie » Mon May 23, 2011 9:47 pm

Hi all.

Took a trip over to Brooklands museum on Sunday for the first time and I was very impressed. The museum folk are great and try to open up aircraft when possible and are up for a chat. Here are a few shots of the civie stuff from the visit:

Top stuff mate :thumb:

Was a brilliant museum, only problem was we needed more time there!

Really recommend this place for anyone with an interest in Vickers machinery :thumb:

Some lovely nostalgia there, especially the guardsvan, but what's the OTT on the last shot  unfortunately as the song goes "my eyes are dim, I cannot see I have not brought my specs with me" :P

Watch the arrival of the Vanguard and the slightly "undershot" landing

Cheers for the replies folks, it is a top museum and I think a future trip is in order in the summer.

Avtur it's not your eye's, I've had the high res image up and still can't make out what it is possibly Fokker 70/100 sized. Luckily they had turned around Concorde the week before so saved shooting into the sun if I wanted the same shot back then. Cheers for the video link too :thumb:

I love Brooklands. been there loads of times as I used to be a member and went to most of the fly-ins they had on the ever shrinking airfield. I did a job a t the Mecredes Benz building that is now on what was the north/west end of the runway a few months back a could not belive how little there is left of the place...apart from the museum of course! realy nice shots aswell mate!
