Sad to see the royal Jordanian looking like that, I do like the livery on that fleet

and i am not sure the wooden undercarriage on the mid west will ever catch on

Now that has depressed me, the 3 A320's there I have flown on from Manchester to Charles De Gaulle, or Orly to Grenoble

did you go on a tour around the airfield or do you have other means of access ?

Thanks for the comments. To answer some of the questions:

1. Access for spotting/photography at Kemble is excellent (I have no special privilages/access). Aircraft are stored all over the airfield. The main storage/breaking area is easily viewable from a layby on the A429 which runs past the end of the runway. You can also go onto the airfield from where you will see all the other bits as you drive around. There is a superb cafe (AV8) and picknick/viewing area next to the control tower. Thoroughly recommend the food/drink from AV8 Can spend may a happy hour there watching the commings and goings... Access is from the A433 Cirencester-Tetbury road and is signposted.

2. The remains of the DASH 8 (N355PH) are/were visible from the A429 layby, but you have to look out for it! It's burried in the ever growing pile of nose/cockpit sections in the breaking area. Not really good for photos...

The reason I asked about access and did you have a tour was, early in 2010 the Blackburn buccaneer society were talking about running Kemble experience tours that would take in all parts of the airport including the buccaneer Society Restoration Area the scrapage apron the storage area the fire dump and maybe the GA area, they were looking to run tours on the first and third Sundays of each month and they were due to start early last year, but it all went quite and I never heard any more about it, so wondered if they had started running the Kemble experience tours

hi guys, a bit off track i know but on your visits to Kemble have you seen a Chubb Pathfinder crash truck? My father used to drive it at Manchester, it then did the rounds and ended up with East Midlands markings, i was told it ended up in a very sorry state at Kemble, its sister is now preserved at Elvinton York.
any info would be helpful

I saw a documentary on Discovery recently showing them 'recycling' aircraft in the states. Basically they tore them to shreds with numerous monstrous machines. Looks a little more civilised at Kemble.

Last time I flew in, it was parked (dumped) near the Bandit "G-FIRE" - brightbred, and still had "East Midlands Airport" down the side of it.

But it had a tidy up for resale on ebay in March this year, although as of last weekend was still to be found lying in the fire training area at Kemble still in a sorry condition...
