Some lovely examples of English Aviation heritage
Re: More from East Fortune
It is nice to see a Concorde that is well protected from the weather. Nice photos.
Re: More from East Fortune
Sorry this is a little Military but:-
I can't see why they can't have a Nimrod at East Fortune and place it next to the Comet to show the Lineage of both Aircraft.

Both aircraft in the first shot were built at Prestwick.old_git wrote:

Id do agree, The 707 looks good would would be better complete, although I did chat to some of the chaps who did the dirty deed at Cosford and they where saying it wasnt in good condition at all.

A tribute to the restorers then and at least we have some of it to cherish rather than nothing at all!!

Re: More from East Fortune
Hi Guys n Gals,
the last time I visited East Fortune was on the 10th September 2006 and I thought I'd add four of my images of the day, taken with my old, trusty Canon G2.
Starting with this beauty escaping and being loaded up for a journey to Germany.
Next we have a gorgeous Beech.
Then how's this for a classic design?
Finally you have to have a Moth on display , helped by the light cascading from the roof lights.
Next time I'll take some wide angle kit with me and a tripod!
Fabulous place to visit, which had use bathed in sunlight, sitting out on the grass, eating ice cream!
Regards
Reggie

Re: More from East Fortune
Thanks for posting Reggie!
Unfortunately the day we were there it was very windy, and quite wet so no picnic!
My wife and my oldest son both suggested going back in the summer and a picnic on the grass is a good shout, with the added bonus of being able to watch the aircraft approaching Edinburgh!!
Regards
Drew

Re: More from East Fortune
Hi guys,
For those who dont know, a Nimrod will be on display, Forward fuselage, in the hangar beside the Comet.
Outside of fuselage only i believe until the interior has work carried out.
Regards.

Re: More from East Fortune
The Nimrod will look far better when the lower nose section - i.e the chin - is fitted back on. Any idea when it will all be finished?
Re: More from East Fortune
I dont know Unknown, same as everything, its determined by time and funds really.
Hopefully soon.
