Stansted airliner graveyard 1985
Stansted in it's heyday of recycling old airliners. The Intercontinental DC-8 actually diverted to Ringway after a little incident involving a Flying Tigers DC-8 which it aquired damaged ailerons to one wing,as you can see it ended it's days back at the scene of the coming together !

I have a pic of the DC8 at Manchester taken from near the old camo Fairy hangars,it was tucked away for some reason !!! Then as you can see i caught up with it at Stansted.
For some reason i do like taking pictures of stuff like this, must get over to Kemble again soon as i guess thats our only Stansted replacement in this country.

Excellent pics Skud, especially the Bristol freighter and the CL44's. Nice shot of the Heavlift Belfast too!
Talking of Kemble...has anyone been round the Bristol Aero Collection, is it worth a visit?

Just do what i did and visit the cafe there, take in the Britannia and look over the fence at the scrappers. There were Air India lumps and Airbus's plus an Air Seychelles 767,it's such and interesting place just like Stansted used to be.andyxh558 wrote:you are right there! any chance of arranging a trip round there?
