New edit from Heathrow 1971

Post by BringBackEGDG » Tue Nov 24, 2020 1:58 am

Not getting out at the present time so spending it doing re-edits of slides from 1971.
Pan Am Boeing 727-21 N327PA 'Clipper Meteor' on short final to runway 28R Heathrow 28th August 1971.

I will hopefully add more when I have edited them.

CV-990A Coronado HB-ICA of Swissair unfortunately still quite high on final to Heathrow's runway 28R on 28th August 1971.

Another great memory, you could see these coming down the approach when they were still 15 miles out - not the aircraft itself, but the plume of black smoke!

In my opinion the most beautiful airliner ever built goes to the Sud-Aviation Caravelle. This image again captured on the 28th August 1971 shows Caravelle VI-R EC-ARL operated by Iberia landing 28R at Heathrow. Some will have seen this image before Image1971-08-28-003FS EC-ARL by Stephen Rendle, on Flickr

These are brilliant , thanks for posting. The aircraft types and operators back then being more varied and interesting in my opinion. :)

9V-BBA Boeing 707-312B of 'Malaysia - Singapore Airlines'. Back in 1971 there was still some nooks and crannies to investigate at Heathrow.
