During one of my trips to China I had a couple of days free time to discover the wonderful sights of Shanghai, this of course meant a trip over to Shanghai Hongqiao airport as I only ever got to stay at Pudong. I followed the various spotting reports and booked myself into the Hong Gang hotel, requesting a room with a view, arriving at the airport I headed straight for the hotel only to find I had a room with a view....of a brick wall...I headed straight back to reception and began the tricky negotiations to see if I could get a room with a view of the airport, with little in the way of Chinese in my vocabulary and absolute zero English in the receptionist I figured I was I trouble as I was led to believe that now views were available from anywhere else. Just as I was about to give up a gentleman came from the back office who had schooled in Canada, 20 seconds later I had my room with him fully understanding what I was after !! Not believing my luck I managed to shoot the following through fog/smog and terrible light conditions.....

That's a fantastic set of shots Rob, I hope you gave the chappie in the back office a small back-hander!!
Re: Shanghai Hongqiao 2009
The livery on the Shanghai 767 looks so 1980s. Nice varied group of airlines there.

Great selection! Those China Eastern and Shangai Airlines liveries were great (the difference being the latter still have an interesting one!). The 767s and MD-90 look fantastic.
