Around that time, Sunday evening was the time for Scandinavian flights.

A couple of pictures of a B707 going to TAAG Angola. No visible reg.
Around that time, a few B707 from Jamahiriya (5A-) and African Safari (5Y-) went to TAAG.
There is an unidentified Jamahiriya in the second picture.

Well those certainly dusted off a few old memories! Thanks for posting - I'd forgotten about several of them.

very nice Pete, that brings back memories - I was over there most Sundays to see the weekly Scandinavian charters. I was often working in the Stansted Aviation Society shop in the viewing enclosure (for those who have never heard that expression it's a designated area, usually with some facilities, provided for enthusiasts to enjoy their hobby with good views of the movements) we just didn't realise how good the viewing was then - oh for the good old days!

If you need the i.d.s of those 707s, I can probably find them out for you from the Stansted Air-Britain branch some of the members have immaculate records and logs going back that far.

thanks for posting them
Andy

Well one of my Air Britain colleagues saw this and provided the answers before I even asked:

5Y-BFB is the jamboree or whatever (the green one) it later became D2-TOU

and the unmarked Angolan is 5Y-BFC became D2-TOV

both both first noted on 22nd March 1987

thanks to Nigel Kemp for the info

Andy
