Turnhouse ATC 1975 and Slide Show

Post by Uuoret » Mon Oct 07, 2019 8:23 pm

I hour copy of a tape my Father made in 1975. Turnhouse (Edinburgh) ATC Approach on 121.2 and Tower on 118.7

Interspersed with slides at 1 minute intervals (most of which have already been posted on here).

It's a bit rough, but hopefully you'll get the idea - so be kind!!!!!

Contains Tridents on the LHR shuttle, Bealine 8199 INV/EDI/GLA, BCAL 1-11's and a variety of other stuff.

R/W in use appears to be 13, and parking and stands are at the old terminal.

Mike, I tried to send you a PM on this, but failed miserably!!

Best to all,

John

Crikey! :Wow: That brings back lots of great memories - the controller's voices, the flight numbers, the infernal "Airwork 87" (one of the AST Cessna 310s from Perth) and the procedures in those days. Amazing to think that this is 44 years ago, but just a shame about the background hiss - does anyone know if there is a way to remove that?
Love the slideshow too, that rounds it off nicely.

Good work John, many thanks for putting it together. :) :thumb:
