Hi Pete, no they were taken on a frosty morning at Edinburgh.Earlier it was freezing fog, so flights were delayed, but the sun eventually burned through. I think BA were the first ones away....

Wonderful memories again, John. :thumb:

I'm trying to figure out where they were taken from, I don't think it's the spectator's terrace - apron control maybe?

Hi Mike,

They were taken from the spectators terrace, but I think what may be confusing you is that the view from there was almost uninterrupted until they built the ground level out into the apron the following year, making photography a bit more difficult, as the roof of the new building got in the way. I had forgotten that until you posted - thank you for the memory!!

Do you remember that?

J

BTW, I was never out of Apron Control whenever I got the opportunity. The chap I got on with in there was called Ronnie, and he gave me many previous years volumes of the official ICAO "Register of Civilian Aircraft", worldwide publications, which I still have!

Sadly the Trident was out of service by the time I started spotting properly so I only have a few shots of museum pieces. Not many left preserved - just UK and China I think.

Thanks for yet another trip back in time John - keep posting please!
