I think it's a Westland Wessex of Bristow Helicopters.

Taken 40 years ago, out of Teesside to the Philips Ekofisk field and back - 5 hour round trip.
We used to fly with the door open now and again - don't think the CAA will bother about it now though!
Things have been massively (and quite rightly) tightened up since then.

Hi..
if its was out of Teesside then deffo a Sikorsky S-58 with a possibility of it being G-BCDF or G-BCTX, as they seem to be the more common ones based for a while in the mid late 70s..
I remember well in my early years going up to watch these beasts coming and going...
