Hi everyone.
Only ever saw Concorde 002/G-BSST (first British Concorde prototype) twice. The first time was Farnborough Sept 1970 - the weather was awful so no decent picture that day. These were taken June 71 at Woodford show- 002's first flight Apr 1969 so just over 2 years into it's flight test programme/life when these pictures were taken.
Hope they stir some memories.
Cheers.
Pete.

Re: Concorde 002 @ Woodford June 1971
certainly do stir memories Pete. I saw 002 on the ground at Fairford in May 1969 and then flying for the first time in the Queens birthday flypast (with 16 lightnings a month later - my father took some pics so hopefully I will discover them at some point as I go through his old slides.
I was also at Farnborough in 1970 and I may have some pics somewhere - still gradually going through them all!
thanks for posting them
Andy

Lovely flying shots Pete. Sharp and well exposed - and I know it wasn't as easy then as it is now due to the developments in camera technology (I started with manual Praktica MTL5s in the 1980s).

Nice scans, and happy memories.
First saw G-BSST at Heathrow on 1st July 1972. I recall it had come back from some overseas tour.
Totally unexpected for us. We were doing a fairly regular Saturday trip to the Row. Got to the viewing area entrance and saw a blackboard with news that Concorde was due !
Over the years, several French Concordes have visited Heathrow including protype F-WTSA on 19th Oct 1974.
Seen from home, this provoked a funny telephone call between me and my mate.
"Did you see the Air France Concorde" ?
" No, but I saw the British Airways Concorde "
Yes, it was painted a different scheme each side.
Thanks
Pete.
