I'm posting these in this section because for the most part they qualify as " Nostalga " type aircraft imo. It's not very
often I get to see beauties like Lockheed 188A Electras, DC-6's & Convairs fly anymore. If they are in the wrong section
please feel free to move them.
These aircraft were photographed by me in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada over the years. Conair Aviation is Canada's largest
forest fire water bomber company and their main base is headquartered there. Many companies take their aircraft
there for maintenance especially during the off-season and if I was at the airport during a shakedown flight I always
tried to be in the right place at the right time. The off-season is in the fall / winter of course so the sky conditions
aren't always the best. The sun doesn't shine that often there.
Sorry for the big post but I had a problem deciding which ones to post so I probably overdid it.
1958 Convair 440
1955 Convair 580
1993 Cessna 208B Used as a support plane I would assume.
1958 Douglas DC-6B

1986 Canadair CL215
1961 Lockheed 188A Electra
1996 Air Tractor AT-802
1958 Conair CONAIR FIRECAT
1953 Convair 340-580
1953 Convair 340-580

Re: Water Bombers
Some lovely shots there,thanks.
On holiday in Zante in 2012 on a boat trip to see the Turtles I had the bonus of a water bomber collecting water.
Unfortunately only had small bridge camera and boat was choppy - it was central when shot but
nearly ended up missing it altogether. Tried other shots but camera does not focus quick enough - my excuse anyway

Re: Water Bombers
Hi Wingnut,
great to see your shots. I visited Conair a few years ago and had a great time. One of the crew kindly gave me one of the Conair Helicopter hats and some bugger nicked it from me, when I got back to the UK!
Regards
Reggie
